The Fixx was formed about two years ago from the still smouldering ashes of two of Leicester's finest bands from the 80s & 90s (The Chase & Night Moves). This was due to a chance meeting in a bar somewhere up north, Quorn in fact, between Rob, the drummer from the Chase, and Andy, the guitarist from Night Moves. Rob was very drunk and was being very complimentary about Andy's guitar playing skills, something he wouldn't normally do when sober. Andy, lying through his teeth, told Rob how he thought he was one of the hardest working drummers he had ever seen.

Whilst reminiscing both Lads agreed how they were bored with not playing in a band anymore. So they both agreed it was time to form another band between them; Rob said he knew a Bass player who normally propped up the other end of the bar and would ask if he wanted in, his name was also Rob. Little did they know how much confusion this would cause later on. Andy said he knew another guitarist/singer (he was using these terms very loosely) called Martin who he thought would also be interested in joining, and so the band was formed.

A week later all four lads had a rehearsal in a skittle ally: it sounded absolutely awful. But they were so drunk they didn't notice and decided to carry on. Two years and about a hundred gigs later, the band is beginning to sound almost good, with their decidedly average vocal harmonys and musicianship. Sadly though Rob the bass player (now looking a good 10 years older) could take no more (heavy drinking sessions and king sized kebabs) left the band and booked himself into re-hab. Luckily they now have recruited a great lad called Sam, who is a huge asset to the band, to play bass, resulting in the current line up of Rob on drums, Andy lead guitar, Martin lead vocals and guitar, and Sam on bass. The lads play covers from bands such as Razorlight, The Feeling, The Who, Thin Lizzy, Rainbow, The Kooks, The Eagles, The Beatles, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Wings, The Fratellis, 10cc, U2, The Zutons, and absolutely loads more.
